Italian award-winning film star Virna Lisi has died. Family sources confirmed that the 78 year-old actress died today peacefully while asleep in her home in Rome.
A month ago the ever-smiling actress learnt that she had an incurable disease. (story continues after the photo)

Lisi was a Cannes, David di Donatello, Silver Ribbon and César award-winning film actress.
She acted in several Italian movies such as “Le diciottenni” and “Lo scapolo” (both in 1955), “La Donna del Giorno” (1956), “Eva” (1962), “Casanova 70” (1965), “Arabella” (1967), and “Le dolci signore” (1968). (story continues after the photo)

She also appeared in Hollywood movies including “How to Murder Your Wife” (1965) and “Not with My Wife, You Don’t!” (1966).
Lisi starred in her last film “Il più bel giorno della mia vita” in 2002.
